IMPA and its members own approximately 811 MW of generating capacity. The remainder of IMPA's 1000 MW portfolio is comprised of both long and short-term power agreements and purchases on the wholesale market.

IMPA carefully monitors the market and blends its generating resources with its power purchases to ensure that members receive the most cost-effective power available on the market at any given time. With population and economic growth, the demand for power is increasing in Indiana. IMPA is expanding its power supply portfolio to provide stable and reliable power for the years to come.

In addition to its generating assets, IMPA is a joint owner of the transmission system spanning the middle two-thirds of the state.
