Member Communities

IMPA member utilities provide local electric service at not-for-profit rates to municipal electric communities, serving towns and cities with populations ranging from 200 to more than 57,000.

Consumers

IMPA works with its members to serve YOU – our members’ customers, our neighbors, our friends. Together, we provide a wide array of services to help customers meet their energy goals and ensure a supply of low-cost, reliable, and environmentally responsible electricity for generations to come.

Powering Indiana's
Municipal Electric Communities

IMPA’s 61 member utilities are located throughout Indiana and Ohio. Our diverse portfolio of resources includes a mixture of coal, natural gas, renewable and purchased power, providing a low-cost, reliable, and environmentally-responsible power supply to over 350,000 individuals.

Support When You Need It

The supply of low-cost, reliable, environmentally-responsible power to member communities is IMPA’s primary goal. But we also support our members and their communities with services such as marketing, government relations, engineering, and outage restoration.

Being one of the founding members of IMPA has afforded Tipton Municipal Utilities countless benefits. Beyond the obvious cost savings that our customers experience, their educational resources and operational support has made IMPA a priceless business partner for TMU.

We’re grateful for IMPA and all of the things the Agency’s staff have done to help us. We’ve been looking forward to having a solar park here for a long time, and with IMPA’s help, we were finally able to achieve that mission for our community.

All the IMPA staff, from the economic development team, to ISC, to the rates and billing department, are phenomenal resources for our community. IMPA is tremendously supportive, and we always look forward to working with the Agency.

NEWS

IMPA works with our members and other industry personnel to keep abreast of topics relevant to public power and other industry-related issues.

We produce the Municipal Power News for member communities, a periodic newsletter customized with news and happenings for each member city and town. Additionally, we distribute the bi-monthly Wire publication containing IMPA-specific and industry news.
